  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. lard
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 3 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Cream together the sugar, lard and eggs, then stir in buttermilk and molasses.

    Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture.

    Put in refrigerator overnight or for a few hours.

    Roll out and cut.

    Sprinkle each with sugar.

    Bake at 425° until just done, not too long or they will be crisp.

    Makes 3 dozen cookies.
