- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 c. molasses
- 2 eggs
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 1 1/4 c. raisins
Directions

1Cream butter.

2Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.

3Stir in molasses.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

5Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and ginger.

6Add to creamed mixture alternately with whipping cream, beginning and ending with flour. Mix after each addition.

7Pour batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

8Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.

9Ice as desired.
