- 2 c. dry oatmeal
- 4 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. soft shortening
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 3 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
- 5 c. flour
- 6 to 7 c. flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Combine oatmeal and boiling water.

3Let stand 1 hour until cool.

4Add next 7 ingredients.

5Mix well and let rise.

6Add rest of flour and knead well.

7Let rise again. Form into loaves.

8Let rise until light.

9Bake about 45 minutes. Makes 3 large or 4 medium loaves.

10This bread freezes well. Can also be made into tea rolls.
