Molasses Stack Cake

Directions

   Mix sugar and Crisco.

   Add eggs and beat well.

   Add molasses with the soda.

   Add the ginger, salt and enough flour to make a stiff dough.

   Pinch off balls of dough and press in a 8 or 9-inch pan.

   Bake at 350° until firm to touch.

   Stack and put apple butter or cooked apples between layers.
