  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. scalded milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • a little nutmeg

Directions

    In bowl, beat eggs slightly.

    Add salt and sugar.

    Mix well. Add scalded milk slowly; add vanilla and nutmeg.

    Pour custard in a well-buttered 1-quart casserole and sprinkle a little nutmeg on top.

    Place in pan of hot water and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until silver knife comes out clean.
