Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies
  • 2 (7 oz.) pkg. tortillas, lightly crushed
  • 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • bag of tortilla chips

Directions

    Heat oil, saute onion and garlic.

    Add meat and brown.

    Blend in tomatoes, taco seasoning and chilies, simmer 10 minutes. Grease 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

    Layer 1/2 chips over bottom of pan.

    Spoon in meat mixture the Mozzarella cheese and next sour cream, then top with rest of chips.

    Bake at 350° for approximately 30 minutes.

    Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese and continue baking until cheese is melted.
