- 4 (No. 2) cans pinto beans
- 4 lb. chili meat
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 tsp. ground oregano
- 4 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 2 c. hot water
- red pepper
Directions
-
1In a large pot, cook together meat, onion and garlic until gray in color.

2Add chili powder, salt, oregano, cumin and hot water. Mix well.

3Simmer half hour, skimming fat as needed.

4Add beans and simmer another half hour.

5Add red pepper to taste.

6Yields 2 1/2 quarts.
