Ingredients
- 1 lb. stewing beef, cut into cubes
- flour seasoned with salt and pepper
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pinch thyme
- 3 c. bouillon (beef)
- 1/2 c. red wine (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 6 whole allspice
- 1 Tbsp. parsley
- any vegetables except turnips (we like carrots, celery, potatoes and onions)
Directions

1Dredge meat in flour.

2Brown meat in oil in a Dutch oven. Cover meat with bouillon.

3Add bay leaves, onion, thyme, garlic, allspice, parsley and wine if desired.

4Salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for at least 2 hours or until meat is tender.

5One hour before serving, add vegetables.
