Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package button mushrooms
  • 2 large red onions
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger or 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 1 pinch garam masala
  • 1 pinch of dried coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • red chili powder or green chili, as per choice
  • salt

Directions

    Wash the mushrooms thoroughfully under running water.

    Chop the onions vertically (long thin slices).
  3. 3
    Seperate the stem from the umbrella and make thin slices from both.

    Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and put the cumin seeds.

    Add the ginger garlic paste once the cumin crackles.

    Add onions when ginger/garlic turns light brown.

    Cook the onions untill translucent and add the mushrooms.

    Mix the dry spices and close the lid.

    Stir in between and cook untill all the water released by the mushrooms is over.

    Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.
