  • 1 (20 oz.) loaf white bread, cubed (about 7 c.)
  • 3/4 c. (12 Tbsp.) butter
  • 1 c. chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed
  • 1/2 c. chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. rubbed sage
  • salt to taste

    Preheat oven to 350°. Place bread cubes in large bowl; set aside. In medium skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms, onions, celery, parsley and garlic; cook and stir 2 minutes. Stir in broth, pepper, sage and salt. Pour mixture over bread; toss lightly to mix. Spoon into greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until heated thoroughly and lightly brown.
