  • 6-8 apples (various kinds for the best flavor). Peel, core, and chopped.
  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp butter (not margarine)

Directions

    Peel, core, and chop your apples.

    Combine all ingredients except the butter in a bowl and toss.

    Let sit in your fridge for at least 20-to an hour.

    Prepare bottom pie crust.

    Add filling to crust in pie pan.

    Randomly add butter on top of the filling.

    This will help reduce or stop boil over while baking.

    Place top crust or prepare streusseltopping and sprinkle over apple mixture.

    If using a shell, cut decorative slits to allow steam to escape

    Place in a pre-heated oven (425 fahrenheit) and bake 35-45 minutes.
