- 1 lb. bacon, chopped
- 3 large onions, chopped
- 2 bell peppers, chopped fine
- 2 (No. 303) cans tomatoes
- 1 1/2 c. ham, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 c. grits
- 7 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Fry bacon and remove from grease.

2Use 1/4 cup of grease to saute onions and peppers.

3Add tomatoes and ham.

4Simmer one hour. Simmer grits and water one hour.

5Combine the two and add bacon last.

6Good with fish.

7Serves 6 to 8.
