  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

    Boil together sugar, water and vinegar to 238°, or until syrup spins a long thread when dropped from spoon.

    Beat egg whites stiff.

    Gradually add syrup beating constantly until frosting holds shape.

    Add vanilla.

    Makes enough for 2 layers.
