  • 5 to 6 lb. single brisket
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • pepper
  • 1 pkg. kosher dry onion soup mix
  • 12 oz. apricot jam
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 2 c. boiling water

Directions

    Season brisket to taste with onion powder, garlic powder and pepper.

    Broil in pan for 10 minutes on each side.

    Be careful not to burn meat.

    Add 2 cups hot water to onion soup mix.

    Add 12 ounces apricot jam and 1 cup ketchup.

    Pour mixture over meat. Bake 3 hours at 350°.

    Better if made the day before.
