- 2 c. unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter (cold)
- 3/4 c. half and half
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a large bowl.

3Cut the butter into small pieces and cut it into the flour, using 2 knives, a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4Add the half and half and stir gently until the mixture forms a mass. Gather it into a ball.

5Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface.

6Knead it for about 30 seconds, then pat it out to form a 3/4-inch thick rectangle.
