  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Beat eggs just to blend; add sugar.

    Scald milk; add milk, vanilla and salt to egg mixture.

    Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 475° for 5 minutes; reduce heat to 425° for 10 minutes. It will be jiggly in the middle but sets when cool.

    Very good, smooth custard.
