Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- cinnamon and sugar
Directions

1In large mixer bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs, shortening and 2 cups flour and blend for 1/2 minute on slow speed.

3Stir in remaining flour until smooth.

4Cover.

5Let rise until double or rise in refrigerator overnight.

6Dough will be soft.

7Roll around on flour covered board to coat with flour.

8Roll gently to 1/2-inch thick and cut donuts.

9Lift donuts carefully and place on greased cookie sheet.

10Brush with butter and let rise until double.

11Bake at 450° for 8 to 10 minutes.

12Coat baked donuts with cinnamon/sugar mixture.
