- 1 envelope dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add shortening, sugar and 1 1/2 cups flour.

3Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.

4Gradually add, by hand, rest of flour.

5Makes a soft batter.

6Let rise about 30 minutes.

7Punch down.

8Beat 25 strokes.

9Knead lightly.
-
10Spread in greased pan; let rise again.

11Bake at 375° for 1 hour.

12Makes 1 loaf.
