  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. sour milk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. broken nuts (your choice)

Directions

    Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly; add sour milk and beat well. Add flour sifted with salt, baking powder and soda.

    Stir in nuts. Bake in waxed paper-lined 5 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch loaf pan in moderate oven (350°) for 1 hour. Texture and flavor improves after 12 hours. This is excellent for nut bread sandwiches.
