Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cut butter into flour, using pastry cutter or 2 butter knives. Add sugar, water, vanilla and nuts.

    Dough will be somewhat crumbly.

    Push together and chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Shape dough into crescents with your fingers.

    Bake on greased cookie sheet for 15 to 18 minutes.

    Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.
