  • 1 1/2 c. pecans
  • 2 c. walnuts
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine

Directions

    Place nuts in shallow baking dish.

    Toast in preheated 325° oven for 10 minutes.

    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

    Add sugar and salt.

    Continue beating until stiff peaks form.

    Fold in nuts.

    Melt butter in jelly roll pan; spread nut mixture over butter.

    Bake 30 minutes at 325°, stirring every 10 minutes. Makes about 4 cups.
