- 3 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 3 Tbsp. chopped nuts
Directions

1Measure together flour, baking soda, salt and ginger.

2Combine 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, molasses, butter and egg.

3Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to sugar and molasses mixture. Beat until well blended.

4Pour into well-greased 8 or 9-inch baking pan.

5Put remaining 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar and nuts over top.

6Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
