  • 1 1/2 lb. ground walnuts or pecans
  • 2 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 1 c. cream or milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tsps. nutmeg

Directions

    Melt butter in large pan and toast nuts. Caution: they burn easily. Add 3/4 c. cream; salt and sugar. If paste is too thick, add remaining cream as necessary--paste should be thick but spreadable. Add nutmeg and cool.
