Ingredients
- 6 c. flour
- 1 lb. lard
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- pinch of salt
- 1 c. milk
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 lb. prunes
- spices
- 2 or 3 lb. walnuts
- sugar
- water
Directions

1Sift flour, sprinkle yeast and salt; add lard.

2Add milk and eggs.

3Mix together well with hands.

4Knead slowly for 5 minutes; kneading makes them flaky.

5Shape dough into 4 balls and wrap in damp cloth.

6Let stand in refrigerator at least 1 1/2 hours.

7Take one ball at a time and roll (on sugar) to 1/8 inch thickness.

8Cut dough into 2 inch squares.

9Put a large teaspoonful of mixture on each square and pinch opposite corners together over filling. Bake at 375° for 18 to 20 minutes or until brown.
