Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened (no substitutes)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. (about 3 oz.) ground almonds or finely chopped pecans
  • 1 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. ground nutmeg

Directions

    In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla.

    Gradually add flour; mix well.

    Stir in the nuts.

    Shape into 1-inch balls; place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake at 300° for 18 to 20 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.

    Cool on wire racks.

    Combine confectioners sugar and nutmeg.

    Gently roll cooled cookies in sugar mixture.
