- 1 c. butter, softened (no substitutes)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. (about 3 oz.) ground almonds or finely chopped pecans
- 1 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 Tbsp. ground nutmeg
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla.

2Gradually add flour; mix well.

3Stir in the nuts.

4Shape into 1-inch balls; place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

5Bake at 300° for 18 to 20 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.

6Cool on wire racks.

7Combine confectioners sugar and nutmeg.

8Gently roll cooled cookies in sugar mixture.

9Yield: about 5 dozen.
