- 2 acorn squash (1 lb. each)
- 3/4 c. cracker crumbs
- 1/3 c. coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/3 c. butter or oleo, melted
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Cut squash in half and spoon out seeds.

2Mix all ingredients and spoon 1/4 of mixture into each half.

3Place squash in ungreased baking dish (13 1/2 x 9 x 2-inch).

4Season cut sides with salt and butter.

5Pour water into dish 1/4 inch deep.

6Cover with foil and bake in 400° oven for 30 minutes or until tender.
