  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 c. oatmeal
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

  1. 1
    Pour boiling water over the oleo. Add oatmeal and let steam 20 minutes. Add to oatmeal the sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together and mix in the flour, salt and soda. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
