- 1/4 c. oil
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 c. sliced okra
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce or stewed
- 1/2 c. rice (uncooked, non-instant)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- water
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 c. grated cheese
Directions

1Cook onion and okra in oil for about 10 minutes or until onion wilts.

2Spread into baking dish. Pour tomatoes over top, then sprinkle rice and salt, pepper and garlic.

3Cover with water.

4Top with grated cheese.

5Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.

6Yields 4 to 6 servings.
