  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 to 7 c. sliced, pared apples
  • pastry for 2 crust pie
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine

    Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in bowl.

    Add apples, mix lightly.

    Heap in pastry shell, 9-inch pie pan.

    Dot with butter.

    Adjust top crust and flute edges.

    Cut vents.

    Bake in 425° oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until crust is browned and apples are tender.
