- 3 scant c. plain cornmeal
- 3 c. cold water
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- dash of salt
Directions

1Mix all dry ingredients with the water in mixing bowl with a tablespoon.

2Mixture will be slightly stiff.

3Shape pones by tablespoonful and place in 2 well-greased iron skillets.

4Press flat with spoon.

5Put drippings of oil on top of each pone.

6Place in a 450° preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until brown. Makes about 15 pones.
