Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

  • 4 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup rice
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • cinnamon

Directions

    Warm milk over medium heat. Add rice and cook 'til tender (~20 minutes) stirring frequently. Whisk together egg, sugar, vanilla and salt, Stir in some of rice mixture until blended. Return mixture to pan and stir and cook for 1 minute. Pour into 6 custard cups, sprinkle with cinnamon and refrigerate.
