- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 c. warm water
- 6 c. plain flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream together the shortening and sugar.

2Add cup of hot water; set aside.

3Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in the warm water; add to the creamed mixture when cooled.

4Add the eggs and the flour, mixing well with bread hook on mixer or big spoon. The dough will look elastic and smooth.

5Scrape sides of bowl. Cover with Saran Wrap, then cover with a dish towel.

6Let rise until double in bulk.

7Push your finger in it; if it comes out clean, stir with a spoon.

8Refrigerate until ready to make out into bread of choice (loaf, Parker House rolls, etc.).

9Bake at 375° for 25 minutes, or until brown.

10Makes 4 to 6 dozen rolls.
