- 2 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
Directions

1Combine cornmeal, flour and sugar in medium bowl; mix well. Add 3 tablespoons bacon drippings, eggs and buttermilk; mix well. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons bacon drippings in 10-inch cast-iron skillet until sizzling hot.

2Pour batter into skillet.

3Cook over medium heat until batter is bubbly.

4Bake at 400° for 35 to 45 minutes or until brown.
