- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine flour, sugar and salt in a stone crock or bowl.

3Add water and beat to a smooth batter.

4Cover with cheesecloth; set in a warm place until thoroughly sour.

5You determine this by the yeastly smell, usually takes about 12 hours. This Starter gathers yeast from the air to provide leavening. Keep in refrigerator.
