  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c. (a little extra) sour cream
  • 1 c. and 2 tsp. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cream together the shortening and sugar.

    Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

    Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

    Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream.

    Spread half into well-greased 10-inch tube pan.
