  • 1 c. warm milk
  • 1/3 c. melted shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cakes yeast
  • 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 eggs, well beaten

Directions

    Combine the milk, shortening, sugar and salt.

    Add yeast; blend.

    Add eggs; blend.

    Add flour gradually, mixing until dough is soft and smooth.

    Roll out and cut.

    Brush with melted butter. Let rise 1/2 hour in a warm place.

    Brush again with melted butter and bake 10 minutes in hot oven at 450°.
