One-Rise Monkey Bread

Ingredients
- 3 to 3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose or bread flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. very warm water (120~ to 130~)
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. butter or margarine
- poppy seed
Directions

1Grease a 12-cup fluted pan (Bundt pan) or a 10-inch tube pan. In a large bowl, blend 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt, yeast, water, margarine and egg at low speed until moistened.

2Beat mixture 3 minutes at medium speed.

3Stir in remaining flour by hand.

4Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 1 minute.

5Press or roll dough to 15 x 12-inch rectangle.

6Using a sharp knife, cut dough into diamond shape pieces by cutting 2-inch strips diagonally both ways across dough.
