- 4 medium, white onions, sliced 1/2 inch thick
- 12 saltine crackers, crushed
- 1 stick oleo, plus 1 Tbsp. for greasing casserole
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (undiluted)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Melt oleo over medium heat and saute onions until clear and tender.

2Butter a 2-quart, 8 x 11 x 2-inch casserole.

3Reserve 3 tablespoons of crackers for topping.

4Line dish with remaining crumbs.

5Add onions and soup in alternate layers.

6Cover top with beaten eggs and pour cheese and crumbs over top.

7Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
