  • 1 cake or pkg. or dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1 beaten egg

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Add to 2 cups flour, sugar and salt.

    Knead.

    Knead in additional 1/2 cup flour.

    Let rise until doubled in size.

    Knead again.

    Roll out in rectangle.

    Add 1 small chopped onion; roll up.

    Slice about 1-inch thick.

    Rise again (about 45 minutes).

    Brush with egg and bake for 15 minutes at 425°.
