Ingredients

  • 14 cup butter
  • 3 large onions
  • 3 (10 ounce) cans beef consomme
  • 12 cup red wine
  • 1 cup swiss cheese or 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup crouton

Directions

    Melt butter and saute onions until clear.

    Add consomme' and wine.

    Pour into over safe individual bowls, sprinkle with cheese and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

    Brown cheese by broiling.

    Add croutons before serving.
