Ingredients

  • 1 qt. beef bouillon stock (4 c.)
  • 3 c. thin sliced yellow onions
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 c. dry vermouth or cognac

Directions

    Pour stock and heat in covered pot.

    Cook onions slowly in skillet in butter until transparent.

    Cool 15 minutes.

    Add salt, sugar, flour and vermouth in pan.

    When mixed well, add to stock. Simmer in pot 1 hour.
