- 2 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

2Stir in nuts and peel.

3Combine egg, juice, and oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just till moistened.

4Pour into greased 8 1/2-inch by 4 1/2-inch by 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.

5Bake in 350° oven for 55 minutes.

6Remove from pan; cool on rack.

7Wrap and store overnight.
