  • 1 c. margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 3 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 box dates, chopped
  • 1 can grated coconut
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
  • 1 lb. orange slice candy, chopped

Directions

    Cream the margarine and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
  2. 2
    Add flour alternately with milk. Roll nuts, dates and candy in flour. Add coconut. Add to batter and cook in tube pan at 250° for 2 1/2 hours.
