  • 1 c. butter (2 sticks)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 1/2 c. cake flour
  • 1 box dates, cut
  • 1 pkg candy orange slices
  • 1 can coconut
  • 2 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs one at a time.

    Roll nuts and dates in 1/2 c. flour.

    Sift soda and rest of flour. Alternate flour and buttermilk.

    Stir in nuts, dates, orange slices, coconut and orange peel. Bake in tube pan at 250°

    2 1/2 to 3 hours or until done.
