- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 2 tsp. fennel seed
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large mixing bowl.

2Scald milk, then cool to lukewarm.

3Add milk, sugar, salt, oregano leaves, egg, oil and 2 cups of the flour to the yeast.

4Beat on high speed with electric mixer for 3 minutes. Beat longer if beating by hand. Stir in remaining flour. Set in warm place free from draft and let rise to double in bulk, about 1 hour.
