- 2 c. herb-seasoned Croutettes
- 2 c. tomato sauce with mushrooms
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 can (5 oz.) drained, coarsely chopped water chestnuts
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Soften Croutettes with 1 cup tomato sauce in 2-quart mixing bowl; let stand to soften.

2Add beef, well-beaten egg, soy sauce and water chestnuts.

3Mix thoroughly.

4Gently form into meat balls.

5Place in shallow baking pan.

6Add water to remaining tomato sauce; pour over meat balls.

7Bake at 350° for approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

8May be served over fluffy rice or long grain and wild rice.
