Oriental Steak Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. cubed beef round steak
  • 1 small onion (1/3 c.)
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 tsp. dried, crushed basil
  • 2 Tbsp. instant beef bouillon granules
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen Chinese style vegetables
  • 1 c. sliced mushrooms

Directions

    In Dutch oven, combine beef, onion, celery, basil, bouillon, soy sauce and 8 cups water.

    Bring to boiling.

    Reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for 1 1/2 hours; add frozen vegetables and mushrooms.

    Return mixture to boiling.

    Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

    Serves 6.
