- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- dash of salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 c. milk
- 35 to 45 vanilla wafers
- 5 to 6 ripe bananas, sliced
Directions

1Mix 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Stir in 4 egg yolks and milk.

2Blend well.

3Cook, uncovered, over boiling water.

4Stir until thickened.

5Reduce heat and cook, stirring, for five minutes.

6Remove from heat, add vanilla.

7Spread small amount of mixture on the bottom of your casserole dish, cover with a layer of vanilla wafers.

8Top with layers of bananas.

9Cover with custard.

10Make 3 layers of each.

11End with a layer of custard. Garnish with crumbs of wafers on top.

12Let your banana pudding cool for 1/2 hour, and it is ready to serve.
