  • 4 and 1/c cups Converted Rice
  • 28 ounces Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 Large Sweet Onion, Diced
  • 6 Garlic Cloves, slivered
  • 1 quart Chicken Soup
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 and 1/2 pounds Bonless Flanken
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

    Get Oil hot in 6-8 quart pot, Dry flanken heavily sear both sides.

    Remove flanken, brown onions in pot. Add garlic during the last 2 minutes of browning onions.

    Add chicken soup and crushed tomatoes over medium heat.

    Cube seared flanken, add to pot bring to simmer.

    Add rice and let simmer. Rice will look dry. Add salt and pepper adjust seasoning to taste

    Set Crock-pot to low. Spray crock-pot with cooking spray. Add rice mixture from the pot. Pack lightly. Add water and let cook.

    Mixture will be dry looking and the edges will appear very dark. (In a pinch you may add some water directly from a kli rishon, but try not to plan on doing it lchatchila)
