- 2 sticks butter or oleo
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 5 to 6 qt. popped popcorn
- 1 to 2 c. mixed nuts (optional)
Directions

1Combine first three ingredients in heavy saucepan.

2Bring to a boil and stir for 5 minutes.

3Remove from heat and stir in soda. Pour over popped corn (and nuts) in large roasting pan, stirring to coat.

4Bake at 250°, uncovered, for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

5Cool on wax paper.

6Store in airtight container. Makes 5 to 6 quarts.
